Kristie has been doing community based justice and education work for the past 5 years in western Massachusetts. Having recently moved to Chicago she is diving into that work in the fields of urban agriculture and youth education and development. Kristie spent most of her undergraduate career organizing around fossil fuel divestment and climate justice at UMass Amherst. Her understanding of how to do this work well and for the long haul has come through her engagement in the UMass Alliance for Community Transformation and the relationships and community it has fostered. Committing herself to always working from a people-first perspective in social justice work has grounded her in the importance of story-telling, relational practices, finding shared values and shared joy.
